Love, when strong, is resilient; it can survive wars, pandemic, and distance. As stated in this talk, “kapag inlove ka, tumitigil ang mundo mo (When you are in love, your world stops moving)”. As manifested by this statement, nothing is going to stop the couple, Mr. and Mrs. March and Ronna Uy-Canete to get married in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. And in this episode, their grandmothers’, Lola Nena Oquias and Lola Estrella Uy, shine as well as they look dashing in their outfits while they play the part as Flower Lolas on their grandchild’s wedding.  With their wedding getting viral, the guests’ talks about the story behind their flower lolas and their journey on getting married during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Getting married will always be worth it – pandemic or no pandemic. According to the bride, “Nothing is worth it or not worth it, it was your decision, so it is definitely worth it.” When imagining weddings, Filipinos are more inclined to celebrate in grandeur. With grandeur comes with cost. On their COVID-19 wedding, the bride highlighted two advantages and disadvantages on getting married during the Pandemic. She stated, “You will realize the essence of intimate weddings. Although intimate, for the family circle, it was already a grand celebration and it was cost-efficient as suppliers were giving discounts.” However, due to the strict protocols its disadvantages include not being able to invite all their family members and the need to downsize their guestlist. 

Although getting married during the pandemic was common. Their wedding ceremony stood out among the rest due to replacing their usual flower girls to flower lolas. Unique, right?
